I finally got my letter of meeting of creditors for next month. Does anybody know what kind of question they ask during the meeting. What should we do (my wife and I) before and during the meeting so the meeting will go smoothly. I'm kind of nervous, so pls. any advise is really appriciated. My attorney filed me for Chpt 7.

The trustee will ask you all sorts of questions about your financial history. Just be honest, and answer only what he asks. Don't go into long winded explanations, just be consice.

It's scary, but after it's done, you will be like "Why was I so worried?" It really is nothing. Rarely do any creditors show up. It's mainly just yes or no questions, and they are very easy. Do you own any property? Do you own a car? Do you have any savings? Stuff like that. They don't ask you why you filed, or anything personal. It takes like 10 minutes, and you are done!

My trustee had us verify our dob, address and that we indeed were filing for bankruptcy and if our lawyer gave us some form. Took less than 2 mins, he was extremely friendly and wished us good luck.

We had our 341 in October 1st and discharged 12/5/07.

I think we were asked the basic questions. While we were sitting in court waiting our turn, I think I saw maybe 3 creditors there and only 1 objected to anything, and the room was full. But this person that objected wanted the car back and did not want to let this guy have a chance at reduced payments because he never kept his word to them. The many that was filing was very rude, so needless to say teh creditor got the car, but other than that, I know mone of our creditors showed up for anything, as most do not.

Thank you all for your help. I went to my meeting yesterday and you were right only yes or no answers. It only took less than 5 minutes. The trustee didnt' tell us about discharge, but my atty told me at the end that I'll get my discharge in 2 months. Is that how it works?.
