I had thought of filing bankruptcy and had a talk with a lawyer. But, I'm bot sure whether or not I would opt for bankruptcy. Am I legally binded to take help if I talk to a lawyer?

No, you can visit a bankruptcy attorney for advice. It can charge you a fee. It is your decision whether or not you want to hire the attorney for your case.

You're not legally obligated to speak to a lawyer. But in my opinion, you should speak to a lawyer for your own benefit. Here's how a lawyer can help you:

A lawyer can tell you which type of bankruptcy is suitable for you
A lawyer can help you to fill out the forms
A lawyer can tell you what fees you have to pay
A lawyer can tell you about the problems you should anticipate

Nope, but to get out of the confusion, you must speak to a lawyer. A lawyer can tell you which type of bankruptcy is suitable for you and help you to fill out the forms.
Taking help from a professional is wise you know...
