I have just been discharged. How long should I wait for a good credit card?

At this moment many credit card companies will turn you down, especially if you try for "a good credit card" with low rates and high rewards. So, do not try for this for few months. You may go for secured or prepaid cards. Do whatever is possible to re-build your credit.

Pay off all your monthly bills on time. Get started with a secured credit card.

You have to wait for almost 2 years to get premium credit cards with the best features in town.

You have to wait for around 5 years to qualify for an AMEX credit card.

You have to wait for at least for getting a credit card from BofA.

You have to wait for 2.5 years for a Chase card. It isn't that easy.
