Even if you don't know what they are for because if they come after you after you file and you didn't include them, you will have to pay.
Even if you have bills that are not on your credit reports, still include them.

I listed absolutely everything I could think of on my bankruptcy papers so that no one could come back at a later time.:) It is good that you are going through your credit reports to get everything down, make sure you are looking at all three credit bureau reports as all of them are different.

Yes, I am looking at everything. There are some things on there that I do not even know what they are for. Just wanted to be sure about including them to the list.
I heard something about it being on a disk? What is that, can you just write it down on paper or is there a form for that too, I didn't see one.

One more question: I am really considering filing bankruptcy because I am afraid one day I will be sued. My current situation is I don't make enough money right now to ever pay this back. My debt isn't the largest compared to some people, it's close to 8,000. I have made some foolish mistakes in the past and sisn't know how to budget my money, But some people told me not to and some said to do it to start over

I hear you, I am in the same boat with about $10,000 in debt. Don't let people tell you what to do. You need a fresh start and thats what it's for. Most people get careless or like me have medical problems. Do what YOU want to do.

Have you signed up for the free counseling that is available through this site? There may some other options available to you. The other options would be debt consolidation or debt settlement. Most people consider bankruptcy to be the last resort if none of the other options work. Also, you can still file bankruptcy after you are served with a summons if someone does decide to sue you. If you read through some of the other posts in the forum, you'll get a good idea of what the difference is between debt consolidation and debt settlement. Good luck!

I am with a debt cosolidation serivce right now. It helps with some of them, but not the ones that were transfered or bought by a CA, and those are the biggest ones. Does bankruptcy also help with judgements or if you were in a settlement with someone?

Yes, most judgements and such can be included in bankruptcy, but certain kinds of judgements may not be dischargable. But judgements due to past due bills are dischargable.

Yes, I mean like child support and that sort of thing. Also, judgements related from criminal cases can't be discharged either. But normal credit card debts and such that have judgements can be discharged.
Guest, I agree with what "guest" said. Do what is right for YOU
Guest, I agree with what "guest" said. Do what is right for YOU. Some people might tell you that your debt is too small to bankrupt and try some other way to pay it. You know better that anyone else what you can afford and a fresh start can be the best thing ever. I am not telling you to bk or not just that you have to do what is right for your situation at this point in your life.

Personally I recommend to people to stay away from those debt councelors, consolidators, settlement places.....we tried them, they took thousands of dollars for their "fees" when I was sued by one CC company they claimed they could not help me with that and then to top everything off when I finally went to file the bankruptsy they sent me a bill for the remainder of their service fees which I ended up putting into the bankruptsy as well.
