Welcome to the Community :D You can call or get a free first visit to a bankruptcy attorney, to give you some answers. As far as wanna be attorneys here, the people on this forum share the experiences they have had concerning debt and credit related issues. Alot of people here have had sucess with what they have learned and tried, and try to pass on what worked for them to others. If you have any questions, please ask!..KAren

Actually your house is not protected in most states if you have lived in that State for less than 3 years (2 years in some states).

Also, under the new bankruptcy laws, in many states your house is only protected up to a certain amount. For example, in Texas your home is only protected up to $125,000.

Do not take the advice of people on here INCLUDING MYSELF. We are not bankruptcy attorneys. You should be able to find a consumer bankruptcy attorney who will give you a free consultation or at most charge you a fee of one hour for the consultation.
