Bankruptcy and chapter 7

Hi, I did look into a lawyer about filing chapter 7. She did do as means test on me and believe me I dont have much. I did receive a 20 day notice and let her see it. Then after that meeting. I had to come up with the money to pay her to even file for chapter 7. I own a home, I have a mini van. I dont have equity in the home and all I fear is losing my home. I do not want to lose the house. She did say I can file for chapter 7 with all that I have. I did receive a 2 nd notice which is a ten day notice. I showed it to her and she said that they cant really do anything that it will be default. I dont know a lot about this and I dont believe in alot of people because of another situation I was in. I know to listen to her, but is that the right thing to do. Dont, and be in default. Do I listen to her. Please help....
