Can I file bankruptcy if I'm receiving a supplemental security income? I have a few credit card debt

People with little or no income are eligible for SSI benefits. I'm sure you know this fact very well since you're already receiving it. You can file bankruptcy since supplemental security income is exempt in bankruptcy. So you can file bankruptcy easily.

Most likely you will qualify to file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Social security income benefits are exempt from bankruptcy. But if you mix the social security money with other money, you may lose the exemption.

Since the social security benefits are exempt from bankruptcy, you can file chapter 7 bankruptcy. However, talk to an attorney before proceed.
