Do I have any rights at all in appealing an award judgement slapped on me by the national arbitration forum located in MN...........Can I file an appeal for this award judgement ...I live in the state of Virginia. I'm approaching 90 days and this was issued on july 18, 2006.

At the time this was going on, I had a settlement company represent me and this credit card was one of the debts listed however the settlement company did not do their job and I was forced to let them go. However, it was too late, the forum already awarded in favor of the creditor.......

The reason why the creditor took me to the arbitration board is because I had hired this settlement company and did not receive any communication from them or me. When one hires a company like this, it's up to the firm to send out letters and communicate with the creditor..........NOT ME.........and since in the creditors paperwork it was noted that the settlement company was listed as contact. I'm wondering if I have any grounds at all in appeal regardless if i owe this or not. I was not given the time to prepare my case because of this situation with the settlement company.

At present, your case is not strong enough, it will be better if you can take some advice from the attorney. The documents with the settlement company will be required in order to prove your defense in the court. You will need to present your defense to the judge in such a way so that he understands your willingness to pay the debt.

Did you check with your settlement company whether they made any contacts with your creditors? Your creditor claims so but you will know the facts only from your settlement company.
