my bf wanted me to ask a question regarding his situation.
he is filing for bankruptcy, would u guys happen to know if it would affect getting an apartment?? or your rent?? would u be evicted if the apartment company found out ur filing for bankruptcy??
we got approved for an apartment, but he already filed for bankruptcy he just needs to gather up all his papers and informations etc. what would happen in the end if the apartment company found out he's on bankruptcy etc?? the apartment will be renting will be under his name. i tried putting under mine but i wasnt qualified for it due to the fact that i do not have all the infos they needed etc. so he got qualified. and question pops up from him, what would they do if they found out he'll be doing bankruptcy later on... pls help...thanks in advance

you should be fine. You are already approved for the apartment correct? Then they would have no way of knowing about the BK since they have already ran your credit report. Most apartment places will still rent to you as long as you have been discharged in a Chapter 7. Most don't care as long as you didn't include rent owed to them:)

Heck, usually after filing bankruptcy you have more disposable income so most rental companies see that as a plus. Then they know you are in a better position to pay.
