If I was given enough time I might be able to dig out of this but I am talking years not months.
With BK are you able to pick what debts you want to discharge?
Explain what insolvent means?
I am self employed, I am going to be paying to the IRS also this year and so I have not even been able to get money put back for a settlement.
I also want to know how long I have to get a bankrupsty filed with regard to late CC payments and being able to discharge them.
BTW I live in Iowa

You might check with some bankruptcy attorneys and see if they will give you a free consultation. Some may....to be honest, they are the best ones to answer your questions. Let him see what you make and what you have going out and where you are with your bills. You will need to be honest and up front with an attorney. But do check to see if there are any in your area that offers free consultations

On you late CC payments, it all depends on how quickly the cc companies act to get their money, but once you have a case # and attorney and these are included, they won't bother you. If they contact you, you just give them your lawyers name and phone number and sometimes they ask for your case #. Now sometimes the CC companies can show up at your hearing, but most don't. An attorney can answer every question you have and explain things in detail for you. I know there is a lot of information on line in regards to bankruptcy, but when I filed, I wanted to actually talk to someone so I knew exactly what things were and not get confused by trying to interpurt things myself. It can get confusing at times.
