Chapter 13 and Repossession

I have been to see the attorney to file my chapter 13 and is waiting for an appointment to set up the date in which to file the petition. I received a call today from my car company that they have submitted a letter to have the car repossessed (although the letter has not been approved). Since I am awaiting for my lawyer's appointment, I told them that they would have to contact the lawyer to get the case number. They told me that it doesn't matter because if I do not have a case number, they will repossessed the car. My lawyer told me to tell my creditors to contact the lawyer but these people are ridiculous. My note is behind. Is there anything I can do to prevent the repossession and the lawyer's office is closed today.


SoapLady, I got your response. But maybe I should have been more clearly. I met with the attorney already and with the person who viewed my paperwork. She said that she has to set me another appointment with the person who actually files the documents. However, because of the holidays, that appointment has not been set yet. So I will give them a call this morning and see what can be done for me to keep the vehicle. They told me previously to tell the company that that they will be representing me so I guess I will contact them this morning to see what can be done as soon as possible. Thank you for your response. I hope that something can be done this morning.
