IMO, I would pay the family member and wait on the furniture. I understand bankruptcy will put a blot on your credit report. At the same time I would feel better repaying a family member who loaned to me in my time of need. In the meantime try to save up $1300 on my own to get the furniture later. *Just my 2 cents*

Are you planning on buying the furniture with a credit card and then filing on it? If so, you would need to wait a while prior to filing. I'm thinking at least 90 days??? I also believe that if you use a card knowing that you are not paying it back, could be considered fraud. If you are paying cash, it could be a different story. I'm not real experienced, and this may not even be your plan. I guess we would need to know that and then some one with more expertise could advise.

Well to be truthful with you, I would try and ask your local Church's and goodwill or salvation army for help with a bed, so you can pay your family member, there is a lot of places that will help and donate beds and among other things if you cannot afford it. We are in chapter 13 and we still have problems with creditors still bothering us, it is such a hassle worst than ever I'll say, but good luck thanks Freda...............
