It can vary across the country from $700-$2000 plus court filing costs.
Then it would be the court filing fees plus the pre and post ban

Our attorney is charing $1200, plus $50 to pull credit reports for self & hubby. Our pre counsleing charges were $35, post will be $15 (we used CFEFA). Grand total $1300.00.

My Chapter 7 cost around $1600 and I was thankful to find one that let me pay mine with installments. I just had to give him enough upfront to get started with the filing. By the time I had my hearing I only owed him two more payments.

My husband and I filed a joint return in Florida for a total cost of $1900. That included the attorneys fees, the court costs and the required classes. My attorney also took a down payment and we paid him off in monthly payments.
If anyone is having financial difficulties and needs to file BK, do a search because there is a wealth of information out there that can help you file for less or even free. Having an attorney was great and our BK went smoothly BUT we really struggled getting the money to pay him off. In that time, we dealt with so much creditor harassment-it was crazy. I wish I would have known about half the options out there then like I know now. There are plenty and all FREE-you just gotta find them.
