The bankruptcy shouldn't stay on your report for more than ten years. If its over ten years and the bk is still getting reported, you may consider disputing it with the credit bureaus to get it removed.

Sometimes, ch 13 leaves on in a worse situation than ch 7, which erases all your debts and gives you a fresh start. You can even secure a credit card more easily with a ch 7 on your report.

Have you tried getting a secured card?
