I have filed bankruptcy few months back. But one of my creditors is still making collection calls. What should I do? Can't I get rid of them even after filing bankruptcy? I am sick and tired.

Well... I had replied to this thread day before yesterday. But somehow I found my post to be deleted and the thread closed!!! I contacted the admin and got this thread reopened... I guess some people have all the time on this earth to delete posts and close threads... I did not find anything mentioned in the forum rules and guidelines that new members cannot join or participate in the forums... Rather, it is an open forum. However, activities like deleting posts and closing threads will definitely hamper forum participation. I don't think anyone should delete posts without proper reason. If there is something wrong with a post, why not say it in the forum itself? I will request the Forum Admin to take a note of this and also take required actions against people who delete posts.

Anyways, can the person who deleted the post help me retrieve it and let me know what was wrong in it?

@Despritfreya and Nascar: Thanks for your reply... A system glitch? Ok... may be may be not... I'm not a person from technical background... so I don't think I'll understand a system glitch. However, do threads get closed due to a system glitch?

As far as the OP's query is concerned, a creditor cannot take any action against the borrower if the borrower has already filed bankruptcy. This is because the bankruptcy court issues an automatic stay against all the creditors or collection agencies. As you’ve filed bankruptcy, you will be able to get it discharged and won’t be liable for paying the dues to the collection agency.

Have you gone through the 341 meeting? Your creditors are invited to this meeting but it is not mandatory for them to attend this meeting. However, they come to know that you’ve filed bankruptcy. If you haven’t gone through the 341 meeting, then you can ask the collection agency to contact your bankruptcy lawyer for further queries in this matter. Your lawyer will handle the issues in a better manner.
