I divorced my husband in August 2010. My creditors are suing me for credit card debts. I am thinking to file bankruptcy. He didn't owe this particular debt. My question is, can my creditors harass my ex-husband for the debt? Please advice.

This will depend on whether or not you and your ex-husband live in a community property state. If you do, then your ex-spouse will be responsible for any debt incurred during the term of your marriage. Your creditors can call your husband regarding the payment of debts. However, after filing bankruptcy, creditors are most likely to avoid making collection calls for fear of violating bankruptcy laws.
