Has anyone here been granted a waiver of the filing fee in a chapter 7? I was curious, because I saw some info about this, and my family would qualify under the income guidelines. But, my attorney has not mentioned this. I read the application, and one of the questions was how much I have paid an attorney in connection with the filing. Do they assume that if you can afford the lawyer that you can afford the filing fee? Just wanted to get some insight before I call my lawyer about this.

If you can afford an attorney, you will not qualify for a fee waiver. You have to be destitute.
