Can bankruptcy negate alimony in futuro payments?
Also is bankruptcy some thing both parties in a happy marriage must file for together or can just one. I ask because I am a wage earner and my present wife is on Social Security and I have a tremendous alimony payment. Each month I fall $3000 to $4000 short on my bills but I have been depleting my retirement savings.

Bankruptcy can be filed individually, even if you're married. A
Bankruptcy can be filed individually, even if you're married. Alimony and child support cannot be included in bankruptcy. What you can do is petition the court to reevaluate the amount you're required to pay for alimony.
