Waste of Money to Settle?

I have a chance to settle with a cc for 45%. However, I will probably end up in bankruptcy in about 3-4 months. Is it a waste of money to settle? Seems like I should just let it go to collections... or even sue me if it gets that far... then file bankruptcy.
