thinking about filing chapter 7

I have 15 accounts that add up to around $14,000 that are all charged off on my credit report. One is a judgment. I am on SSDI and limited on my income so would it be best for me to spend the $850 to file chapter 7? My credit is already ruined, I think my credit score is around 450 so would filing actually help bring my score up?

Yes. You would be better off to file for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
Yes. You would be better off to file for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Since these are mainly credit card debts, they will be easily dischargeable. It is also true that your credit score will improve by filing. It won't improve over nite, or in a month, but over time it will.
