I go to my creditors meeting nest week. I have not done my taxes for last year but when I do I may have a small refund. Will I have to sho a tx filing at the credtors meeting? Do they access my records to see my refund if I have one? I was going to file after the crediors meeting. I filed pros se and it was very easy by the way. Cosyt me less than $100 foir the software.;

I am pretty sure you have to do your taxes before you go for chapter 7, chapter 13 I am unsure. I thought I read that your case will be dismissed if your taxes are not filed but I could be wrong.....

I think you at least have to file them so it would be a safe bet to do that just incase I am right and you won't have to refile again.

Yes! I just filed and needed to turn in my tax returns for the past 3 years. So I go to turn in 05,06,07, They wanted 08-I did not have 08 because my husband was waiting for a 1099 and I hadn't filed yet. I had to wait to file until I did my taxes and bring in a copy of 08. I ended up being owed a refund and I was scared they were going to take it. No-turns out in my state my refund was exempt from them taking it. The laws are tricky but I did read a thread where someone did not get their refund because the IRS was notified of their filing. I will try to find it. I think it was here I read about it.

To be safe-I would let the trustee know.
