Yes Shirley, BOA is Bank of America and SRA Associates is a collection agency. What to do, you can go through this thread where some of the forum members have posted their feedback on SRA Associates-

Now, you have to options:
1. Deal with SRA by your own, ask for debt validation and check it carefully. If they validate your debt correctly negotiate with them and work out some payment plan. Try to convince them to accept your plan and pay it off. However, the process is not so simple as it sounds.
2. Consolidate the debt. Your counselor will first work out a suitable payment plan for you. Then he will negotiate with your creditor and get the plan approved. This way you can avoid the interaction with collection agency and get your payment plan approved easily.
You can also contact BOA and check if they can accept any payment for you. It is always better to deal with OC than the CA. Keep us posted.

once your sure the debt is yours and it sounds like it is, and your satisfied that the amount is correct, attempt to make arrangements. Most banks will be willing to accept an arrangement paying them back in 6 months or less, so if you can swing that kind of arrangment, propose it. If not, propose what you can pay and see where it goes. The collection agency will try and get you to as fast as possible, but stand firm and olny agree what you can afford to pay. Also, make sure the CA is licensed in your state (if it licenses CA's).
BOA and bed debt
Hi there, My mother in law got into some hot water with a BOA credit card. She agreed to work out a payment arangement with them and paid every month on time for the 2 years. I guess part of it was it was a 2 year agreement...so at the end of the 2 years BOA could re-evaluate and do what they wanted. The collection rep told her this but also said if you make the payments we will continue to work with you. After the two years and right before the 25th payment was coming due she got a call from Kravitz and Assoc. in her area. They now were collecting for BOA and her privious payment arrangement was no longer valid. They had accelerated the debt and what started out as 10500.00 was now 18500.00 even after paying 250.00 a month for 2 years. She tried disputing it...no luck. They did file suit aginst her for a judgement. I guess in NV they have to prove they have actually been trying to work with you or have given you time to pay the debt in full before a judge will sign off on a judgement. She found this out by calling the clerk of the court. So they did file suit and it was almost a year before anything else was to happen after that. She did pay them off in full without settling. But it makes you stop and think about BOA and collection agencies. It was not as though she was a dead beat. She had to have a quadruple by-pass...she was sick. She had always paid her bills and tried to continue doing so. I am only posting this as a what could happen with BOA and a collection agency. Good Luck.

I'd definitely suggest you contact BOA. I have never really liked them but my husband had a cc and banked with them and ended up going through some financial hard times. BOA was really great, kept our account with them for over 9 months of no payments. Ended up settling for 75% of the original debt.
