So they DO know how to validate a debt.

Saturday's mail I received a statement from Asset...Stated my account number, telephone number it was for, Original creditor, last transaction date of 6/22/2000 (Which would make this 7 years sol of 6/2007 correct?) and the amount that I owe, and my personal info.

I am impressed. I only had to ask about 5 times for this...lol Guess my disputing this account twice lit a fire under them.

One more account to go with them..We'll see what they do. :)

7 year SOL is involved with credit report and it starts from the date of reporting.

Last transaction date starts the SOL for debt collection, which varies among states. You have to check the SOL of your state also. By paying a single dime to a past SOL debt, you might start the clock again.

Oh! You read that! Yes, that was rather ludicrous of my husband to pull such a stunt! He never learns though, he's always using his digital camera to get my goat as well. He has many stills and home movies that just make me want to die! Like the screen-saver of me sitting at the computer in my unmentionables with a towel atop my head.

One thing that's scary, but probably true is somehow they know who I am..from posting and sending letters and posting what I sent. I'm not afraid they're going to come after me or anything, but they're prob. like "Well F! She's documenting every step for the world to see..If we don't straighten up, she'll tell on us!" LOL

These were phone bills that I owe from years back. My big deal was there was one of them with another collection agency trying to collect on it..The other one when I called them, they basically said "Ooopsie." and they're deleting it.

I have no problem paying it now...They can wait their turn though.

This is a typical tactic used by collectors. They might use this against you later. Make it clear to them that you want all communication to be done through mails only.
