I am alomst positive Glenda will have no hinking boots on.....and I am sure her wand is really not a tazer. I guess since Glenda is my avatar and I am associated with her now..I will have to watch it...especially since I am the one who posted I was afraid to watch it. Which channel is sponsoring it? I am really excited about the pizza!!! :lol:

i just love watching the wizard of oz!!! i am going to find out what channel in my city it comes on. brings back childhood memories. :D

Oh! I'm glad I'm not the only one excited! They do only air it once a year on TV. It's on TBS. So whatever channel that is where you are, that's the channel it's on. In KY, it starts at 8:00pm on TBS. I will have my Pizza Hut Stuffed Crust pizza delivered BEFORE the movie starts, have my dogs with me, and STARE at the movie! And, roxy, I was hoping you would see this post! :lol: I will be looking for those damn boots!

I swear I will die if she has boots on....If she does not I will pm you a pair when I can :wink: Believe it or not, I have about 40 pairs of shoes....not one pair of hiking boots. My son borrowed them to go hiking in and I never saw them again :roll:

And, roxy, I'm going to have to send frog a message regarding what shoes Glenda is wearing! Watch, they won't show her feet! LOL! You know, she does travel in that damn bubble! :lol:

And I do believe her gown is so long it covers her feet...so we really will not ever know!!!!

Anyone ever heard of some people turning down the sound on the Wizard of Oz, and synchronizing Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" to it? It is supposed to work, I saw one website devoted to this. But personally I think some people have just been smoking too much pot.

law student, I haven't heard this before! Do you have to smoke something for it to "work"? My Lord! All these years I've just thought it was a wonderful fairy tale! Now there's a dark side! :shock:

cannr, LOL no, you don't have to smoke something. Controversy goes way back, even suggestions of a hidden populist political movement when it was written. I won't relate all those theories here, they're much too boring.

Personally I am much more interested in the history of the cinema, such as Buddy Ebsen (ie., Jed Clampet) having to bow out of the role as the Tin Man due to allergic reactions to the makeup, the actress who played the Wicked Witch also suffered problems with the makeup. Met Buddy Ebson at a book signing once, a very nice fellow.

I just wanted to bump this up and remind everyone to watch me in on of my primer roles as Glenda....and for Cannr.......PIZZA PARTY!!!!!

P.S. In this version I am NOT bi-polar...nor am I a good bad witch.....I get to be the GOOD witch :wink:

lawstudent, I, too, was interested when finding out about Buddy Ebsen being allergic to the makeup. I wasn't aware of the witch having problems with it also though. I did a little bit of searching regarding the movie only because I love it so. And, it's good to know that I don't have to "smoke something"! LOL! I'm still wondering if I should go get some Pink Floyd and put on while watching it though!

P.S. Another "bump" for you, roxy! We will be watching for you to float down in your bubble and tell the nasty witch that "she has no powers here" and to "be gone"! Pizza and a roxy movie. It's going to be a good night! Well, unless I turn out all the lights and put on "Dark Side Of The Moon". Lord only knows what will happen then! :shock:

It is Friday, Friday, Friiiiiiiday!!!!!! I know I am stating the obvious but after the week I have had I am soooooooo happy to have the next three days off. Well, I will be thinking of you all while I am watching my grand perfromance....no critiques please. Oh....and I will be thinking of those indulging themselves with PIZZA!!! :D

Okay, I watched it. No, I didn't turn the black light on or the Pink Floyd. However, I was watching it THINKING of Pink Floyd and it just didn't seem right. I think you had to be smoking something for it to "work"! LOL! :lol:
