I have a question. A family member called one of my creditors, trying to help me out but without my permission; to my surprise, they shared information about my account without my approval. Then they called me and asked if they could and I advised them no. I came to find out that they still gave him the information. I called to file a complaint and now, the "manager" won't return my call. What can or should I do about this?

NCO Financial services is a collection agency. They should not have shared your personal information without your approval. The fdcpa laws strictly mentions it as a violation. You need to show proof about this violation before you can complaint to your AG's office. A recording of the phone call can help if your state laws allow doing it secretly.

The manager must respond with a debt validation request. Check your credit report to verify if the CA has put any negative remark. If they have hit it, there must be a legitimate reason. The debt needs to be validated or else dispute with a legal stand and get the item removed from your file.

Recording the phone calls secretly is permissible in 35 states of US. Check your state laws before you seek to gather proof against them.
