A year ago in May I paid off a judgment that was against me between midland credit management and myself. I received a letter from Midland saying that upon receipt of my payment in full they would send a letter of satisfaction to the court to let them know it would be satisfied and paid. a year and two months later I am still showing this judgment as unsatisfied on my credit report and it is keeping me and my husband from moving any further on our home loan. When talking to MIdland they say that they sent the satisfaction to the cour a year ago but they will look into it. I started calling them July 6th and it is yet to be resolved. I cant find a number for their legal department and I cant get any one to call me back. I call 2 and 3 times a week trying to get an answer and I cant get anything. any suggestions?

Call midland credit management at 800-282-2644 and ask them to update your credit file. The date of filing of the judgment will be reported in your credit report along with the latest status of the judgment being satisfied. If MCM is not reporting the actual status of your credit ratings, it is a violation of the FCRA laws. You need to dispute the item with the CRA for investigating this company.

Midland credit is not the best in the world at updating things with the bureaus. I know this first hand. I would do as Stella suggested. That might be your best route, going straight to the source. otherwise by the time you finally do get midland to update, and then the bureaus update, it could be a little while. just my opinion. shirley =)
