Dates of SOL and Dates of Last Activity on CR

I have been reading different information about the last date of activity and the SOL. All the information I read is different from the next one I read.
Can two companies list the same debt as a negative
unpaid debt on the CR? Only one owns it.
How long after the last date of activity can a debt remain on your CR? 7 years, right? Somewhere I read 7 years after the SOL, and some people say 7 years after the charge off.
Please explain.
