need a validation letter
Date: Tue, 08/29/2006 - 09:33
Hey guys.
I recently was contacted via mail from OSI collections about a bellsouth account. They are saying I owe over 1400 dollars. Thing is, the area I live in doesn't even have bellsouth or bellsouth dsl and I have no idea what they are talking about.
I've looked around but I can't seem to find what I really am looking for...um...is there a sample validation letter around here somewhere that I can send this agency?
Thanks so much.

Edre, pick a sample debt validation letter from the link given by jedijeff13 and send it through US certified mail to the collection agency. Be sure that you won't make any commitment now until you have reviewed the account info. Most accounts obtained by CAs are disputed. Check thoroughly whether you really had this Bellsouth or Bellsouth DSL account in the past. If you make a small payment without reviewing the info, you will be turned liable for paying this account in full. A commitment will also cost you the same if they record your statement. So, get the debt validated by the CA first.
