This is most likely a scare tactic to get you to cough up a payment pronto. Depending on the company, some reps will threaten things like this to try and get a result (payment), but do not follow through. Other than embarrassing you, informing your supervisor of this matter is not going to accomplish anything. Try not to be shaken by this guy's tactics.
Have you been contacted by a debt counselor for this site yet? You can discuss your situation with them and they can go over the options available to help resolve this and give you some peace of mind.

definitely send a cease and desist letter to this guy..Check with the BBB for their address. Make sure you insist that they only contact you by email or postal mail..This worked for me.
