Cross-Check... Anyone dealt with them before?

No, I closed the acct. the check was written from. Basically, I had unauthorized debits coming out of my acct. and before I realized what was happening, a check I had written bounced.

Instead of the company I wrote the check to contacting me directly to give me the opportunity to remedy the situation, they use this CrossCheck company to handle everything. That's fine, but I have only just received something in the mail asking for payment of the NSF check, and then got a call last night from CrossCheck asking if I intended to pay, and then demanding that I wire the money ASAP. Before I even had a chance to say a word, this little dweeb started giving me some spiel about a check is an immediate demand for payment, I should have had money in my acct., he didn't know why I didn't have money in my acct., and frankly, he didn't care (direct quote). He said I better borrow the money from family/friends and wire it immediately, or he would start procedures on the check. Then he said, "Good luck!" and hung up on me. I was so mad and just sat there in disbelief. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor and the same guy came on the phone pretending to be a supervisor and using a different name. I told him I knew what he was doing, and he got crappy with me and said he didn't have time to mess with me. I just hung up.

I just wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar or heard of this company.
