The bank picked up her car and now they say she owes what is left on the car after they sold it.She ask to see a invoice or something on what they recieved for the car after they sold it and they told her no they don't have to show her anything just take thier word for it.So now she is going to court and the judge who looked like he was going to side with the bank ,sided with her and the bank was mad so now they must show her what they sold her car for and what is left on the loan.I love it when things work out and this is a good story for her but not for the bank.I wanted to share this story with all of you and I say good for her.

Yes, I agree, good for her. I know haver your car repossessed isn't a good thing, but the bank should have shown her what it was actually sold for. How could anyone not be suspicious of the bank trying to profit a bit by acting like the car sold for less than it did?

I agree that the bank should have shown your friend what the car actually sold for. Unfortunately, your friend is still screwed because repo'd and then resold cars NEVER sell for what they are worth, and the difference your friend will have to pay is going to be outrageous. He/she is still going to be the big loser financially in this whole repo.

Sorry to keep you guys waiting for so long I talked to my friend and she said the bank did send her what they recieved from the sell of the car,now you would never believe what happened, she was talking to her nephew with another last name and a different state and he was telling her he had just bought a car a couple of months back for 16,000 dollars at on of those auctions so he proceeded to tell her about the car and she stopped him and ask him if the vin # was this and if this was on the car and that and she said send a picture through e mail and he did and this is like a fairy tale or something it is her car.
THe bank sent papers saying they only sold it for 8000 so she is taking them back to court. This gets better every time I speak to her and she has said it is allright to share this story.
How bizarre is that! So the bank is claiming it only sold for $
How bizarre is that! So the bank is claiming it only sold for $8000, when in fact it sold for $16,000? And does her nephew have the paperwork to back it up? Definitely keep us informed of the outcome!

I am having my husband's car repoed. He is in Germany for 2 yrs, working for BMW> He agreed that the car is too expensive & we can't afford it. I will be anxious to see what happens, as I know we will be responsible for anything still left. However, we only owe 9,000. The car is a 1994 Mercedes sl 500 2 seater hrdtop/conv. Even in poor shape it should sell for 11,000. It is in fair shape. I will have to go to court for my husband it the out come is favorable.

The financier always has to send a letter detailing how much the repossessed vehicle was auctioned off for, and how much is left on the loan that the debtor is still responsible for.
