If you want to document your experience with Universal Fidelity, go to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) website and file a complaint. It ionly takes a few minutes. You can copy/paste your posting from here. They will send you a return email thanking you for telling them about your concerns. Not help in and of itself, but it does serve to document your experience with UF. If they get enough complaints about a company to feel sure it is bad coroprate policy, not just one bad employee, they investigate and can shut the company down.

Correct, not only Universal Fidelity, but any other collection agency, credit company or pdl that is in business and is violating the federal and state laws should be reported to the proper legal authorities. The state attorney general should also be made aware about the particular company. Once there are many complaints against a particular company, some actions will be seen, either they will be heavily penalized and the people will be compensated for the damages or the company will be banned from doing further business.

I know that these illegal companies often use multiple fake names. So if one of their DBA is banned, they use another one to do the business. I don't know how much truth is in it but it may happen.
