PLEASE! what is the statute of limitations for medical bills in the state of Florida? I am being hounded by a collecter that bought this debt after 4 years of hearing nothing about it. They seem to be in a hurry to recoup any money or commitment to pay.

Statute of limitation, if expired, will protect you from getting sued. But the debt is still valid and it will be posted in your credit report and hurt your scores. If you are interested in improving your scores, get the debt validated by the CA and make your payments. They will report your accounts with the CRA and the positive remark will raise your credit scores.
