I just received a phone call from a foreign lady saying that she was from my bank and needed to verify some info. I asked her why she needed to verify some things, and she said they were updating their files. I knew this didn't sound legit, so I asked her what bank she was calling from and she couldn't answer me, she just hung up. It was an "out of area" call so my caller id didn't pick the number up. The more I think about it, I think it might have been one of my internet pdls that I defaulted on and they were just trying to get my new banking info because I closed the account they had access to.

I just called my bank because the telephone bankers are there til 9pm. I asked the banker, if for any reason, do they call and ask to verify info over the phone, and she told me no, never!! I told her what had happened and she said it was probably a scam. I just knew something wasn't right; especially the foreign accent because in the past when I've talked to some people from Sonic dba Paydayavenue, some of them had accents, and I know Sonic is in Malta. The lady from the bank said they NEVER ask any info over the phone or by email.

No matter. But, if I were you--I'd change my number, too. You might even consider a fraud alert on file at your bank.
