I am having problems with a credit card account that is in my name; my wife is listed as an "authorized user" on her credit report. Can the credit card company come after her if I have to default on this account?

Legally she can't be help responisble. Authorized user is simply what the title states, meaning you are allowing her to use the credit card. If this was a joint account however, then you would both be responsible.
