Can Midland still collect this debt?

I also have had dealings with midland. and I'm not sure when the statute of limitations apply in my case. I live in New Jersey and I started this account back in 1990,91. and they are just deciding to take my situation with them through the courts. I stopped payments around 2001,02. can they still collect on this debt? I have no problem dealing with this I just want to make sure they are not doing something that I don't understand.


The debt will be collected until paid. The statutes expire after the date of last activity. You need to know for sure when the last payment was done and the statutes in your state. With this info and after Midland validates the debt, you will come to find out if they have any rights of legal actions against you.
