I am an overspender until now.
In March 2006 I was rushed to the ER with a Widow-maker Heart Attack. I was 25 at the time. My Psychiatrist misdiagnosed me with ADHD and prescribed me to Adderall. He kept upping the dosage of this dangerous medication along with putting me on meds for anxiety. He never looked at the interaction with the Adderall and the other meds I was prescribed from other Doctors before seeing him. Within 4 months, I lost 50 pounds, and had all 8 symtoms of a woman's heart attack. I ignored the signs and blamed them on other things. I was rushed to the ER with about 5-20 minutes to live. Now I am stuck with part of a dead heart and lots of bills that I shouldn't have all due to my doctor's misdiagnosis and over medicating me.
Now I have a lot of debt from trying to pay off the medical bills. I lost my job and now have to pay the med bills on credit card, because I need to pay the CC Companies with the little cash I have.;

It hurts to pay for something because of the doctor's ignorance. Is there any way you can complain the doctor about this wrong prescription? You may take the help of your local aids or some social welfare organizations in your area.

ER Solution is collecting for the debt you had with the doctor. You can do anything on them. If there is a way to fix, you will have to do it with the doctor directly. Just my thoughts.

Thanks for the reply. It helps getting others opinions of what I should do. This has never happened to me before and I just need to learn how to take care of things now so it never happens again in the future. Thanks

jbaugnet, Welcome to the forums. I am so sorry to hear about your health. I also have health issues and its hard. If you have no other income try the dept of human services they may be able to at least offer some medical assistance. Take Care. KYSIDE38

I was thinking along those lines also. Ask if your local hospital (that this doctor is affiliated with) has some type of ombudsman program. FYI--an ombudsman is a government official who investigates complaints from the public and can be associated with a large corporation or other organization (such as a hospital). Just by stating what your problem/issue is someone might be able to lead you in the right direction for some assistance. Good Luck!
