I recieved a phone call today from bass and associates out from jacksonville, fl. the lady was nice and told me that if i don't pay before 6pm that seminole county court will have my file and that i should get a lawyer. she told me that sometime last year in october, i had taken out a (200.00)loan from fsm group and had not paid it back. though i never recieved a final warning letter or anything. i must have forgotten about it. so i get this call and i ask to speak to a manager, the man called himself bernstein(?) and he was soooo rude, he made me cry, and told me that i guess they are making an example out of me for the holidays and that i should get a lawyer.and repeating that everything that goes up must come down.. he even mentioned the martha stewart act??? they said that when the check went through, the amount wasn't there, and that the checking account was closed. now the lady said that i could pay a settlement of 400.00 in which i didn't have, so i told her that and she said pay 300.00 today (12-18-06) and the rest on this fri. (100.00) so i paid 300.00 through money gram and called the lady back to give her my reference number...am i correct and how do i find out if i really owe this amount of money right before the holidays????? how do i even get in contact with fsm at all????

I love it. The Martha Stewart Act. That is a good one. Don't sweat this company. Send them a debt validation letter. Chances are they won't respond. I am still LMAO over the Marthat Stewart Act. What is it about? Don't lie for your friends to the authorities?

Don't let this company ruin your Holidays. They threaten everything under the sun, and they are illegal threats at that. Chances are they will refuse to give you a debt validation. File a complaint with your state's AG office and with the FL AGs office.

I am so sorry you sent them $300. Don't send another dime until they validate this debt which they are required to do under Federal Law, they made illegal threats to you file your complaints immediately.

Martha Stewart... what are they accusing you of insider trading? I know: you had insider's knowledge that the value of your checking account was about to go way down, so you closed it, and that gave you an unfair advantage because they couldn't tap into it first. In think the Securities and Exchange Commission needs to be alerted prono!

OMG...the MARTHA STEWART ACT??? I'm just about falling off my chair laughing at this one! Amazing what they come up with.

What's sad though, is that they sucked someone into it, caused emotional turmoil in their life, and took their money. CHINI227 - please take the advice offered by the members above and fight this. And do us a big favor and try to have a wonderful holiday, despite what this company tried to do to you.

If they dont send you anthing in writing, dont send them a dime, I have received the same threats from these people. I told them until they send me something in writing they arent getting another dime. They told me then they were downloading affidavits for fraud I said ok thank you. That was last month.
