OSI Collection Letter, Need advice on how to proceed...
Date: Tue, 01/23/2007 - 06:54
Hello, Today I received a letter from OSI Collection services regarding a past-due Capital One account. It has been about 6-7 months since I made a payment. Last year I had a financial falling out with a failed business and a drastically reduced income so I am in a bad situation with several creditors. This one is of particular concern because their letter states that "CAPITAL ONE BANK" is considering filing a lawsuit against you. That legal action would seek a judgment to collect the entire balance shown above. It is definitely in your best interest to avoid litigation." The balance amount is: $1,493.54. How should I proceed with this letter and collector?

Welcome to the forums. Since you have registered a counselor will contact you to discuss your financial options. Going with consolidation has many benefits. You can consolidate into one payment monthly, some will drop all late fees and over limit fees, and reduce the interest rate.
Make OSI validate the debt before you send them a dime to make sure they legally have the debt in question.
