husband's account said he owed 175.00 I told them
I had asked and sent letter stating what I owed
and I knew I had paid them because they took out
of my account without say so. I also told her
my husband is terminal and he can't speak or
communicate she said a few cuss words and told
me he would be prosecuted I hung up on her but.
Anybody have any suggestions?

Do you know what company the call came from? Do you have a copy of your bank statement showing where they took the money out? If you have paid the debt, and you have proof, I wouldn't worry too much about them prosecuting you. The worst they could do is sue you civilly, in which case you just show your proof of payment. They cannot prosecute you for A. Your husbands debt & B. Any debt. There is no debtors prison. Is this a pdl? Some more information would be helpful in deciding what you should do . . . . .
