Can a collection agency attach wages over $600 in medical/dental bills? I wouldn't think they would, but maybe she is just trying to scare me.

It is a legal rule that the collector must get the court order before they try to garnish your wages. As per the state laws a court date is fixed and you are asked to present your defense.

Be cautious because some collection agencies issue fake legal papers to get the money. Don't fall into their catch. Verify the document carefully and check with your county clerk if there is any case against you.

dv= debt validation letter. Search board under that name. It forces them to prove they have right person for debt and forces them to prove they are legally allowed to collect on debt. Please insert in letter that it inconvenient to call me and stay off phone. Read sticky at top of board titled fair debt collection practice act. It tells you what they can and cannot do. If they violate these laws you can collect money from them.
