Harassments must not be tolerated by anyone. If any collection company is into such activities, it is completely against the laws. The laws exist for the consumers giving a legal protection. Report such companies to the law enforcement agencies in your area.

A couple of things:
Recording calls without permission is not legal in all states, so you might want to check on the laws where you live, first.
Also, I have tried making my motto in life "two wrongs don't make a right". If these people are being rude, crude A-holes on the phone, you definately don't have to put up with that--but I really think coming down to their level by being a jerk back is wrong. I would terminate the call as professionally as possible. Don't play their game! This way, they can't tell if they are getting to you or not.
