I received a letter from this company for the loan I had gotten from SJM Marketing. However, it does not say what the balance they are wanting (only in an email from a Ryan Hall). It does have the loan amount $ 300.00 and when it was taken out. My question is........this is not a " Validation" letter because it does NOT specify what I have paid towards it? At the bottom it gives the info to send Money Grams.

The $ 570.00 they are wanting is not at all in the letter.

The letter I received from them was the same. It just said that I was not responsive to their previous correspondence, and gave details for sending MoneyGrams or Western Union.

They will most likely not validate the date, or at least not in the way they should. Have you sent them any payments yet via money order, or are you still trying to get them to agree to anything?

Don't send any money based on the info given to you. By laws, the debt collector must follow the FDCPA

No matter, if they are not providing you the complete info, you should cover your part in every legal way. Once they receive your DV letter, the burden of proof falls on them, not you. They can????????t continue their collections and you don????????t have to send your money until the information, you requested is put on the table.
