Has anyone deal with OSI collection for Capital One?

I have, but not thru Capital One, they represented Verizon Wireless, they're legit, pay up, I did!

I have regarding a hospital debt. The hospital sends it to them if you don't pay the full balance in 3 months (yeah right) Anyway, the guy I spoke with was very nice, courteous and worked out a plan for me. He even said that if there was a month that I would be late, just to call him. I only had to do that once, and there was no problem. So I can say that my personal experience was not bad at all.

The person who I spoke with was kind of nasty - the first person when I asked for a mailing address to send a VOD letter had no clue what I was talking about, she had to get someone else on the line. When I asked for the mailing address to send a letter, made some comment and hung up. The number that showed up on caller ID was a VA number which stated to call a 866 number and the fax started with 804 area code, put the mailing address is in WI. The account was charged off in 1998 and have not recieved anything in the mail from them in the last 6 yrs. This account may be pasted the SOL in NJ

I found an old thread about this company. They have many negative feedbacks and customer complaints. Make sure that you are aware of the debt on which they are doing collection. It looks like the debt is too old to be reported in your credit report. But OSI will be trying to re-age the account and list it in your credit copy for keeping the negative information longer. Monitor your credit report regularly for any unauthorized reporting. This debt is already past the SOL period. Make sure that you informed about the laws and fight against them if they are trying to mess up.

NCO... what can I say about their uneducated, untrained, uninformed debt collectors who openly violate the collection laws. I currently have a claim against these idiots for harassing my 14 year old daughter on an account that was obviously not hers.

Talk with them if you must, but record the call if legal. The longer you talk to them, the more laws they break.
