Daily Faxes from Allied Interstate

I receive a daily fax call from allied interstate 323-372-3621. When I pick it up, I hear a squiggly sound like a fax (or horrible thought, perhaps a modem?). However, I never receive a fax. Today I didn't get one but at least 3 calls like this. I called that nbr shown on my callerID, but got a fax/squiggle sound. How can I get this to stop?

A letter, sent return reciept, stating that they are not permitted to contact you by phone--written communication only should--should do it.
Do you have any debts they are collecting on?
