Hello,

I have a question regarding a collection I currently have on my credit report. It is a valid collection and payment is sought by asset acceptance llc. After reading all the comments regarding this company I want to make sure that when I do approach them about paying off my past due debt, it is done so correctly.

I am trying to improve my credit score, something I have neglected for the past 6 years. I am eager to pay off this debt so that it no longer reflects negatively on my credit report. I have other credit cards that I pay off on time and I have well established credit. My problem is that I have high interest rates which I think are directly related to the Collection I have on my account.

Finally, my question is; just as the letter posted on this board on how to get a collection validated. Can someone direct me to a site where I can find a letter that will help me clear my record after paying for this Collection??? I would really appreciate any assistance.

Thank you,

Trying to Pick up the Pieces.

If you're going to be paying this, I advise attempting to negotiate with the collection agency, possibly for a pay and delete. You would agree to pay in full, they agree to delete the entry. Otherwise, this entry will stay on your credit report for another 7 years. Here is an assortment of templates, I believe what you seeking is found within, edit as applicable.
