I just received a call from A.I. stating I owed a debt on a WalMart Credit Card from 1999 in the amount of $139 and the caller wanted to know if I wanted to clear this up over the phone. He said the credit card was in my name with my social security number. I said I have never had a WalMart Credit Card and he asked me for my social security number. I would not provide it. He asked for the last 4 digits, again I would not provide it. I asked him to tell me what he had down as the last 4 digits and I would verify yes or no. The 4 digits he stated were not mine and I told him so. He said, "Ok thanks for your time" and hung up.
Was this a pfishing scheme?

This is actually a credit agency that works for Walmart supposedly. They are not an accredited business and they have an "F" rating with the BBB. I would suggest informing Walmart of their practices and reporting them both to the BBB and the FTC. They have unfair practices and fowl language reports against them. Do not deal with them, they have also been reported for not keeping to agreements they have made with consumers.
