I was out tonight and my mother called me freaking out about a call we got at home from a Ms. Rivers. She told my mother she worked for Norman Kalina and stated she was calling for me or my husband. She then gave my mother a case number and my driver's license number (which wasn't even correct.) The caller ID said the call came from Hackensack, NJ. First thing is I am mad that whoever this is would give so much info to my mother on the phone. Second is I am trying to figure out what agency this is before I call back - if I even do that. Does anyone have any tips for me?

They're scumbags! From what I found when researching, the collectors present themselves as being from the Offices of Norman G. Kalina, but he has in the past denied any involvement with collections, so who knows.

One of my pdls with 1000-Easy-Payday (a.k.a.- Xpress Cash) was turned over to them for collection. They started calling me at work and called my mother at work asking for contact info. She told the lady who contacted her to stop calling, and the lady said she would when I called them. I sent a cease & desist and debt validation request and they didn't comply. I've heard nothing since. That was probably last October or November.

Have you received any written correspondence from them stating who they're trying to collect on behalf of?
