I am currently having an issue with Wolpoff&Abramson debt. It is for a cc default for around $700. It is inflated by them for interest up to 1500. I made a payment in January for 50, with a promise to pay $500 in February, and the remainder in at the end or March. I was unable to come up with the remainder, and started paying $100 every two weeks online. The debt is originally from 2001 and am not sure if it back within the SOL because I have paid on it. They keep calling and refuse to set up an automated payment plan for me. They want it ALL immediately. What kind of legal action could I face? And if they do threaten me with action, and i pay it in full immediately, can they charge me any extra fees? I have read a few postings, and it seems they do not do anything within the law, so I want to get this done as soon as possible. Any advice?

They can take you to court and have your wages garnished...if you are sending in monthly payments regardless you should keep the receipts of any canceled checks or be able to obtain your bank record in that event to show the judge..Also if you get a summons to court...GO! otherwise they get a default judgement against you
