Does anyone have an address for Smith, Haynes and Watson? I need to send them a cease and desist letter, they are constantly harassing me at work with phone calls.

They also have an office in Vegas. They have an office in Utah that nobody is even in. So if they givr you that address DO NOT USE IT. It will take weeks for whatever you send to that office to reach the reight people at the REAL office. The office in Utah is simply there for them to be able to practice under Utah law. That office is used for receiving mail ONLY.

I actually had an account with them and they actually helped me to settle the account over payment terms that i could deal with. You borrowed money that you promised to pay instead of finding loop hols not to pay just pay on terms you can handle as in the end its a lot less stressful when its off your plate right? i called 866.489.0979 and an agent helped.

I received a letter from this company in the mail and I tried to call the number at the bottom they would not tell me who the original lender was and demanded i pay them $ 877.60. I stated I needed to know the lender to see hwo it was. I also notified the office in writing within the 30 day cutoff to dispute the validity and have not heard anything or received anything from them.

You may or may not hear from them. It depends on the circumstances of your "loan". I went head-to-head with them back in September, requesting validation and sending C & D so they'd stop calling my work, and never heard back from them - the loan was with Eastside Lenders who are illegal in N.J. SH&W gave me the same bullcrap: can't send them checks, must have my bank account number, yadda yadda yadda. I was trying to arrange payment of the balance (loan less interest charged), to no avail.

Haven't heard from them since. (keeping my fingers crossed):D

Does anyone know who it is that will try and sue ? Is it actually Zip19,Smith Haynes and Watson or Geneva Roth Ventures? Seems it would be Geneva Roth Ventures since they are the actual bank loaning the funds? Anyone know if that is correct? Anyone have Geneva Roth mailing address?

Maryland's financial regulators said Monday that they have ordered a Kansas firm to stop collecting debts from Maryland residents, alleging that the company repeatedly tried to collect on illegal payday loans despite being warned not to do so.

Smith Haynes & Watson's debt-collection license was suspended last week by the state Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation after complaints from residents, a temporary action that will become final if the firm doesn't request a hearing within 15 days of receiving the order.

The company pursued residents for payment on small, short-term loans that can't legally be collected, the agency said. The loans were issued by unlicensed companies and had interest rates far higher than allowed, the agency said.

In one case, a consumer was given a $300 loan to be repaid in less than two weeks along with a $90 finance charge, the equivalent of a 995 percent annual interest rate, the state said. Maryland's payday-loan law caps at 33 percent the annual interest rates on loans of $1,000 or less.

Anne Balcer Norton, Maryland's acting deputy commissioner of financial regulation, said the state notified Smith Haynes & Watson more than a year ago that it could not collect on such debts, but the company continued doing so. The firm also misled consumers as it tried to collect, telling one resident that it had "placed a grievance" against her Social Security number, the state said.

"It's frustrating to see this, because it's the combination of pretty abusive loans coupled with collection practices that really aren't much better," Norton said.

Smith Haynes & Watson did not respond to requests for comment.

I have had so many frustrating phone calls with these people. Finally I called a supervisor: Sadie Lesmeister, Supervisor
Customer Contact: Sadie Lesmeister, Supervisor - (800) 351-8820 ext. 1512 (contact info per the BBB) within 10 mins I received a call back which was stopped by my call blocker. I called them back at their other phone number: 888-257-8993, said I need to give attorney information, a NICE gentleman said he took it, lets hope he did, If not I am going to pursue legal action against the company. BTW if you want to see the supervisor's facebook page just search for her name- facebook contact may stop the calls- though I didnt take it this far.
